Halibut Point

This was one of several watch towers used to spot enemy ships and submarines off the coast of Cape Ann during WWII.

The quarry at Halibut Point was a thriving working quarry back in the early 1800's, shipping its granite to all the large eastern cities--now a peaceful state protected sanctuary.
Pictures taken between 8:30 and 9:00am, 25 degrees
