Today's photos are dedicated to my parents who met 48 years ago today, May 20, 1961 (the first anniversary without my mom)--they are my greatest love story. Photos from my own yard, 9:50am, 67 love-is-in-the-air degrees
Below: These once were my great-grandmother's lilacs on King Street, at the house where my mother was born. 5:30pm, 61 degrees after a shower, very windy
Ebb and Flow is a daily photo journal of life as it unfolds in my home town of Rockport, Massachusetts. While thousands of people, tourists, artists and beach-goers alike, flock to Rockport during the summer months for its exceptional beauty and enchanting light, it is in the winter, when the visitors all disappear, that the town becomes once again, a quiet and peaceful haven for its inhabitants, and a time when the most extraordinary common day beauties are revealed. I call it the ebb and flow, this coming and going of people, this sharing, then reclaiming that comes with the seasons. Either way, high tide or low, Rockport is a special place and I hope these daily photos capture at least a glimpse of its unique charm, its exquisite beauty and its unmatched peace and simplicity.
